Gemma Doherty Gemma is a Senior Facilitator of The Form in Ireland. She lives in Co. Donegal, Ireland.What inspires you about The Form – Reality Practice? Am inspired by the simplicity and profound stillness and expansiveness of where it takes me to - where there is only the pure silence of the Divine - and that it is a living practice, ever new each time. The Form makes ‘me’ disappear and clears the mind stuff that takes so much energy. Then there is such clarity in my daily living which feels more real. My heart melts and opens and the Form makes me weep in beauty and gratitude and the dissolution of old painful patterns. It brings me deeper into the body and beyond, touching the vastness beyond any body/mind identity. How long have you been practicing The Form? Have been practicing the Form for 6 years. What drew you to The Form originally? The longing to be with a living master drew me to Bernie Prior or Bernie’s realization and my being sang and it kept drawing me to him. The first 8 day retreat with Bernie where he was teaching the Form just blew me into a new deeper, real more authentic place within which touched my heart so tenderly beautifully and a knowing that this was so precious and profound in its simplicity. (my sister thought I was drunk when speaking with her on the phone after the first 4 days of that retreat – yes – drunk on Divine love I was) How has The Form changed you, your life and relationships? The Form has changed me into living as a more authentic being – continually asking me to look deeper, to go deeper – seeing old patterns that rise up and then dissolve, showing ever deepening truths and I am constantly discovering new depths within which helps me see more clearly. In living with greater awareness and presence am seeing how interactions with others has a deeper quality, and no need to change the ‘other’ just keep meeting all in new places. Life is constantly reflecting for me to see deeper beyond the personal ‘me and mine’ to open more, to be more, constantly challenging me to live from the real. Am knowing the difference of speaking from the deeper place or when it is still coming from that egoic place of ‘me and my story’. The Form is ever showing me the bigger picture seeing the vastness beyond the limitations of this form and am knowing finer frequencies in how I move in the world – whether in that rush of egoity or in meeting in awareness. And I have experience the true joyfulness of life from that real place and feel incredible gratitude to have been gifted the Form practice. What inspires you about teaching The Form? Am inspired by how the Form is ever new and to share or gift this newness with another that will touch them on some level or many levels and to serve the teaching in this way. And it is stretching me way out of the comfort zone to move towards teaching the Form so it is waking me out of that ‘spiritually lazy place’ – pushing me to live the expansiveness, and always the longing to know deeper and deeper levels of being.
